Basic archery
activity information:
 |
The bow
This contrivance of
stick and sinew was man's first mechanical invention, enabling mankind to
fight off predators at a distance and to hunt effectively. Today we
shoot at set targets on a dedicated range rather than at large predators
or for hunting purposes, so why not try the traditional English sport of
Archery? |
 |
The Target Archery Range
For this discipline, participants shoot at targets
set 15 meters away, with a safety net placed behind
the targets. Behind the shooting line a gazebo and seating are
provided and range markings and warning signs are placed to ensure
both your groups safety and any passers by. |

The
Crossbow Range
For this
discipline, participants shoot at targets set 15
meters away, with a safety net placed behind the targets. Again behind the
shooting line a gazebo and seating are provided and range markings and
warning signs are placed to ensure both your groups safety and any passers
by.
Please
note that for crossbow events participants must be 12 years and above by
law, although fun crossbows can be offered for junior archers under
12.
